The Danica Asylum was opened on May 31, 2023, thanks to the City of Trebinje and the British organization Network For Animals. It is located in the atar of the village of Zgonjevo, 10 km from the city center. The name of the asylum Danica is symbolic of the prematurely deceased Trebinja Danica Dadi Đikov, who was a great protector of animals, especially dogs. Asylum danica has temporary accommodation for 90 dogs, all dogs are veterinary treated, sterilized, socialized, have chip and passport and are ready for adoption. They are adopted only with a signed adoption contract. The shelter also received a certificate for exporting dogs to countries abroad, which will make the job even easier if one of the tourists wants to adopt a dog from our shelter. Volunteers and anyone interested can visit our asylum every day from Monday to Sunday, visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
