Klobuk was one of the most magnificent medieval town forts in this area. Its remains are located 30 km from Trebinje. The town is positioned on steep cliffs that are looking to Susica river, and it can be approached only from the west side – from the road leading from Trebinje to Niksic.

Byzantine emperor Constantine VI Porphyrogennetos mentioned Klobuk as a town fort more than 1000 years ago.

Klobuk was physically destroyed in 1878 by Austrians who pillaged it and destroyed it, so only the dilapidated walls remained to this day.

Klobuk was listed as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2006.

In the recent times, Klobuk was popularized in the movie ‘On the Milky Road’ (good part of the movie was shot at this location) by the world-famous director Emir Kusturica. Monica Bellucci, one of the world’s most famous movie divas, was a leading actor in the movie.
